I spent most of the day feeling like I was floating, so I apologise for the posts that didn’t really make much sense. It was a good day, filled with much giggling and Stephy and I grabbing each other and squealing “WE GOT INTO UNIVERSITY!” and me jumping up and down with pure joy that I managed to pull off two As and a B … I really don’t know how I did it :-D

It made it all worthwhile though – the eight hour days, the arguments, the nights when I went upstairs and cried because I felt so stupid – it was all worth it when I looked at that piece of paper and saw the A-A-B shining up at me.

After results Stephy, Rich and I went for breakfast in Masons, and then back to Stephy’s house where hours were spent dancing round, taking very stupid photos, and generally being happy. We then phoned Tim and Sarah, and arranged to meet them for a drink, which was lovely. They’re trotting off to Durham University soon, and I cannot BELIEVE how much I am going to miss them :-(

Speaking of Durham … they were my dream University. It was the place I wanted to go to more than anything else, but they rejected my application. But that was with 2 Bs and one A … what if I phoned and said I now how 2 As and one B? Would they give me a second chance? Is it worth reapplying? That’s one of my jobs for today. The other is trawling through websites to try and figure out what to do with my gap year. The current plan is to work until Christmas and then volunteer around Europe and Africa, but that was when I thought I’d be on my own. Stephy has been expressing an interest in doing something with me, so what could I do now?

I’ve been looking at backpacking around Europe. I’d love to explore other cultures, find out new things … I think it’d be a really good way of spending my gap year. I’d prefer to be hostel-hopping more than camping, though … but I’ve been looking on this fabulous website and that doesn’t seem to be a problem. I’d probably still need to work until Christmas though … and I do want to do the volunteering … I guess I could do a mix of all three?

I need to decide definitively before the 6th September. I’m going to France for two weeks then, coming back on the 20th, and I want to be all sorted until Christmas by then. I have a neighbour who runs a recruitment agency, and I’m probably going to try and be a Temp until then.

Sigh.

I don’t know.

What I do know is that I’m going to see HAMLET TONIGHT :-D

And just to finish – I celebrated with a meal with my parents. They got me a pitcher of strawberry marghuerita. My head is hurting quite a lot this morning.
