New miracle ideas

An apology to the male readers out there, but this needs to be said. Slash ranted about. It’s a very ranty time.

You see, I have the worst PMT in the world.

My parents are avoiding me at the moment, because everything they say is irritating me and I keep shouting. My head is pounding, despite the tablets I have shoved down my throat despite not usually taking tablets. I’m melting, despite lying on my bed in my bedroom with the windows wide open in summer PJs. Despite having been feeling vaguely nauseous all day and therefore off my food, I am currently scarfing a chocolate muffin just to get some chocolatey chemicals in my body.

This is where my genius idea comes in. Scientists should make a pill that contains all the chocolatey yayness that women with severe PMT can swallow and make themselves feel better. Now I feel really quite sick, but I’m still eating this sodding muffin just because I feel a need for chocolate.

That, or they could find a way to get rid of this fucking shitty monthly pain in the arse ritual, that women have to suffer for about 40 years when they only actually need it for about 4 or 5.

Grrrrr.

  • Would you really prefer a pill to just eating some chocolate..?

  • Taking a contraceptive pill continually (ie. without taking the placebo and switching to a new box directly) is an answer to your concerns.

As my gynecologist says, you don’t need all these periods, dear.

(Of course it is not “natural” to menstruate only once every six months or so. I don’t have a problem with that. Living in houses and driving cars is not “natural” either.)

  • Dominic – When I feel really sick like this, yes. Eating chocolate when you don’t want to eat anything is not good.

Citronella – I knew you could take pills continuously, but I didn’t know it was “allowed” so to speak, even advised. I may start doing that :-)

  • Dom – Also, ideally the pill would give you all the benefits of munching chocolate, but far more intensely.

  • Speak to your doctor, my dear. It might depend on which pill exactly you’re on and so on (as well as how open-minded (s)he is), but mine did not suggest it before I raised the point.

Regarding this chocolate-pill… could we engineer one that has all the benefits of eating chocolate (mainly, you’re calmed down and you don’t want to eat chocolate anymore), but without the weight intake? That’d be great.

(Oh, I’m the drug design person in the room? What? Me? Really?)

  • Gah. I hate talking to my doctor. He’s an elderly Indian man, and I cannot understand his accent for love nor money.

As for the chocolate pill … of COURSE it wouldn’t have the weight intake! In fact, ideally it would be engineered so that it actually made us lose a little of our body fat…

    Get on it, C :-)

  • I’m sorry you feel bleurgh.

But please remember that you are an incredibly beautiful girl on the outside.

And an unbelievably beautiful girl on the inside.

  • Awww. You’re so sweet :-)
